Nordic News: March 2nd, 2017
- The race consists of two laps of Mickey Olsen (3.75km) and can be done in teams of two as a relay OR as a single skier (skiathlon).
- There will be prizes for best costume*, tough cookie and random draw prizes.
- *The costume theme is “Dynamic Duos“. E.g. Sonny and Cher, salt and pepper, Batman and Robin, Sugar and Spice, Day and Night….
- Main race starts at 11:00 a.m.
- Bunnies start time is 10:15 a.m. (warm-up at 10:00 a.m.) Bunnies can choose to ski Titan or laps around the Stadium.
- Free Chilli lunch!
- Wednesday, March 8th: Skate Mass Start
- 2.5km, 5km and 10km
- Registration from 6-6:30pm; Racing at 7pm
- $2 for members
- Draw prizes donated by Skookum!
Nordic News: February 10th, 2017
There are two days of races (Feb 11-12th), and while this promises to be lots of fun for everyone, there will be heavy traffic on the trails and in the parking lot. There will be parking lot attendants there to help, and please be aware that only vehicles with 4 or more passengers will be allowed to use the parking lot.
Take the Free Shuttle! We ask members and racers to please make use of the free shuttle available from the Big Eddy Fuel Station (Hwy 23 S/ TCH). It will leave the fuel station every 30 minutes from 7:30am to 2:00pm. (Returning from the lodge at 30 minute intervals starting at 7:45am.)

Nordic News: Dec 27th, 2016
Our Lantern Ski is this Sunday! (January 1st)
The annual Lantern Ski will be on January 1st, 2017 from 5pm-8pm. Over 100 kerosene lanterns will be lit along Main Loop, as well as the lights turned on around Mickey’s Loop. There will be snacks and drinks in both the Ole Sandberg Cabin and the Day Lodge.
The event is free for members. Non-members are welcome as well, and only pay the day use rate.
Please remember to bring your own mug, and a headlamp is a good idea as well.
- Parking lot help
- Greeting/Fee collection from 6:30-8pm
- Giving out Hot Chocolate and Cookies at Ole Sandberg Cabin
