April Fiscal “Year”

As discussed at the 2022 Annual General Meeting the RNSC was working to switch its financial year end from March 31st to April 30th. The Canada Revenue Agency has accepted our proposed change and we have implemented it for the 2022-23 fiscal year. This has meant we have had a stub “year” that consists of April. We will be asking the membership to accept the financial reports for this stub “year”. Financial statements April 2022:

Changing of Membership Year

Recently Nordic Canada has switched their membership year to end on June 30th. We would like the RNSC’s membership year to coincide with Nordic Canada’s. One strong reason being that our race team members must have registered with their clubs as members in order to be under the insurance provided by Cross-Country BC through Nordic Canada. We will be asking the membership to accept the change of our membership year from Nov 1st – Oct 30th to July 1st – June 30th.

Updating of the RNSC Bylaws

The RNSC board, staff, and knowledgeable volunteers have been working this summer to update our Bylaws. We will need the membership to motion acceptance of the proposed final draft for the changes. This is considered a special resolution under the BC Societies Act. To be transparent, the following is a document that outlines the changes with comments pertaining to the reasoning for the changes:

If accepted the following will be our new Bylaws:

  • To accept the new Bylaws as presented.

We are looking forward to hearing from our members on December 7th!
