The east face of Mt. Macpherson includes complex avalanche terrain and is outside the club's boundaries. All users accessing this area should carry essential avalanche safety equipment and have the training to use it. Winter backcountry travel conditions and avalanche forecasts can found at Avalanche Canada.

A Backcountry Access day pass is $8, or you can buy a season’s pass for $30. This pass does not include access to the trails, other than the designated access route. This pass is also not a club membership.

These fees help cover the costs associated with clearing our parking lot, maintaining the backcountry access route through our groomed trails, and the operation of our day lodge, which you are more than welcome to use. An outhouse is located by treeline in the stadium, adjacent to the parking lot,  for use when the lodge is closed.

Passes can be purchased at the Ticket & Rental Office located in the lodge, or can be purchased online with the links listed below.

When the office is closed, please pay online or use the yellow fee box conveniently located at the information kiosk next to the lodge.

The access route begins at the north end of the stadium area and follows the upper stadium trail to the Main Loop. Turn left onto Mountain Climb and continue to the Fingers access trail.

Please stay on the designated access route to ensure safety for other trail users.

• Backcountry users must have their dog on-leash in the parking lot, in the stadium area, and while on the designated access route. Please respect that these areas are shared with children and other members.

• Dogs are not permitted inside the lodge or on the deck. Please do not tie your dog to the lodge.

• Any dog poop must be removed from the groomed trails.
